Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information the Misosana: English with Yoga app ("the app") handles and how. The app is made by Mosven LLC (Wyoming, USA) under the Misosana Lab brand. Questions: hello@misosana.com
In short
- You do not need an account. We do not ask for your name, email address or phone number.
- Your progress is stored only on your phone, not on our servers.
- We do not keep what you say, what you write or your voice recordings.
- We use no advertising, analytics or tracking tools. We do not sell your data.
1. What stays on your phone
The following is kept only in the app's data on your device and is not sent to us:
- Profiles: the name you enter for a profile and its colour. A phone can hold up to four profiles.
- Progress: completed lessons, your word review schedule, daily goal and streak, badges, game records, time spent in breathing practices, and your garden.
- Settings: preferences such as your daily goal, reminder time and speaking settings.
- PIN: if you lock a profile, the app stores a one-way hash of the PIN, never the PIN itself.
To delete this data, delete the profile in the app or uninstall the app.
2. Backup files
You can create a backup file under Profile → Backup. You decide where the file is saved and who it is shared with; it is never sent to us. A backup contains no PIN and no voice recordings.
3. Speech recognition
In speaking exercises, your phone's own speech recognition service turns your voice into text: Apple's on iPhone, Google's on Android. These services may use their own servers to process your voice, under Apple's and Google's privacy policies. The app only uses the resulting text and does not keep it.
Microphone access is optional. Without it, speaking exercises become listening and writing exercises.
4. AI features
Some features need an internet connection and run only when you use them:

These requests first pass through Misosana's own server, which runs on Cloudflare. The server forwards each request to the relevant service and returns the answer to you; it does not store the content you send. Its logs hold only the type of request, its outcome, its duration and its cost, never what you said or wrote. As part of normal network delivery, your IP address is processed by Cloudflare.
Anthropic and Microsoft process this content under their own terms and privacy policies:

If you do not use the AI features, no content is sent to these services. Lessons, games and breathing practices work offline.
5. Notifications
Reminders are scheduled locally on your phone; they are not sent from a server. A notification contains the profile's name, a short message from Miso and the kind of notification. You can turn off showing your name in notifications under Profile.
6. When you email us
If you write to us at hello@misosana.com (for example to join the beta), we use your email address and message only to reply to you and to send your beta invitation. You can ask us to delete them at any time.
7. Children
The app is designed for adults and is not directed at children under 13.
8. Your rights
Because we do not keep your personal data on our servers, your data in the app is fully in your control: you can view, back up or delete it. For questions about your rights under the law that applies to you (for example the GDPR), write to hello@misosana.com.
9. Changes
If we change this policy, we will publish the updated version on this page with its new date.
